What is Perfect Pancake™ Cast Net Conditioner?
Perfect Pancake™ is a cast net conditioner designed specifically for mono and nylon cast nets. It's used as part of a simple soak-and-rinse routine that helps reduce salt and mineral buildup, soften stiff fibers, and reduce odors after saltwater or freshwater use. It's not a household product repurposed for nets — it was built specifically for this purpose.
What net types does it work on?
Designed for mono and nylon cast nets — the two most common materials used in coastal saltwater fishing. Works on both new nets and heavily used nets, and in both saltwater and freshwater use cases.
What results should I expect?
Based on current field testing:
  • Noticeably softer, more flexible net fibers after drying
  • Strong odor reduction, especially on heavily used nets
  • Rinses out as part of the routine
How much difference you notice depends on the current condition of your net. Most users notice it after the first soak once the net has dried and they throw it.

Using It

Is it safe for saltwater and freshwater nets?
Yes. Perfect Pancake™ was built first around saltwater conditions, but it works on nets used in freshwater as well. If your net sees regular saltwater bait runs, that's where you'll likely notice where it tends to show up most.
How do I use Perfect Pancake™?
  • Mix: Add 8 fl oz to 3–5 gallons of fresh water.
  • Soak: Fully submerge your cast net for 12–24 hours.
  • Rinse: Lightly rinse with fresh water.
  • Hang: Hang to dry out of direct sunlight, with the leadline resting on the ground so the weights do not stretch the mesh.
See the full How It Works page for more detail.
How much do I use per soak?
8 fl oz per soak, mixed into 3–5 gallons of fresh water. The 16 oz bottle covers multiple soaks. The 32 oz is a better fit if you soak frequently or prefer to have more on hand.
How often should I use it?
After heavy saltwater use is where it tends to show up most. There's no strict schedule — use it when your net is stiff, smells strong, or has been sitting after a bait run. It fits naturally into normal post-fishing cleanup.
Does it leave residue on the net?
Not in testing. A light fresh-water rinse after soaking removes any remaining product. Nets dry and throw without noticeable residue or buildup.

Sizing & Shipping

What's the difference between 16 oz and 32 oz?
Same formula, different size. The 16 oz ($27.99) is a solid starting point if you're new to Perfect Pancake™ or soak your net a few times a month. The 32 oz ($39.99) is a better fit if you fish often, have a larger net, or want to avoid reordering as frequently.
Where do you ship?
We ship within the contiguous United States. Free standard shipping on all orders.
What is your return policy?
Unopened, unused bottles may be returned. Opened or used bottles are not eligible for return. If your order arrives damaged, leaking, or incorrect, email hello@throwaperfectpancake.com and we'll make it right. See our full Shipping & Returns page for details.
